Weathering Through Brain Fog During the Day

Brain fog in its simplest of terms means mental fatigue; you’ve probably been pouring yourself into situations and interactions that can be both mentally and physically draining. Now is the time to step back and assess where the brain fog is coming from and how to counteract it.

Brain fog can carry with it a plethora of symptoms such as forgetfulness and a loss of concentration. All of these feelings can arise from some common causes such as sleep deprivation and not working out enough. Here are a few tips to help you get through brain fog.

Take Time for Your Self

Setting aside some time to take care of yourself will lessen your stress. Also, stress is a big reason for brain fog so finding gentle activities to do during the day will help your mind decompress and settle down better.

Drink a Cup of Coffee

Coffee can cure many ailments including headaches and even loss of concentration. If you’re feeling a lack of concentration in your life, drink a small cup of coffee. It can improve your energy levels and help you concentrate on the task at hand. Since your dopamine increases when you take it, it could lead to more neural connections in your brain. Thus, downing a small cold brew can increase your energy levels and even affect your reaction time.

Eat a Balanced Diet

A balanced diet is important for people to receive the right amount of nutrients that they need. For breakfast, make sure to eat a diet composed of protein which can come from meat or even tofu. For lunch opt for a medium-sized meal, with lots of snacking on nuts in between for added energy. For dinner, go for a vegetable-based meal without too much protein and carbohydrates to ensure a balanced diet.
