Leaving the gym covered in sweat is one of the most annoying parts of working out, but one emerging fitness trend is trying to change that. Cold workouts are all the rage in New York right now, but what is this craze all about?

As their name suggests, these workouts entail working out in freezing cold, between 7 °C and 15 °C. This new fitness trend emerged in New York, after Brrrn became the first gym in the country to offer what they call “cool temperature fitness experience”.

If you don’t enjoy being chilly this may sound like a crazy idea, but cold workouts actually come with a long list of benefits. They can improve endurance, aid recovery, lead to quicker calorie burn and help you fully focus on your training.

Other gyms are yet to embrace this trend, but even if that doesn’t happen, you can always give cold workouts a try on your own. Winter is obviously the best time to do it, but you can opt for exercising early in the morning or late at night when it’s colder than during the day.
