Feeling sick after a short or a long run is a common problem among runners, but it’s usually not a serious problem. This nausea can happen for a variety of reasons and here are some of the most common causes.

Dehydration

Nausea is often a sign of dehydration, and that’s why it’s very important to drink enough water before you go for a run. Don’t forget to hydrate during the run too, in order to avoid getting sick.

Food

One of the reasons why you might feel sick after a run is the food you ate before the workout. Try not to eat sizeable meals or fast food 60 to 90 minutes before running and choose foods that are easy to digest.

Hot Weather

Running in hot weather can also cause nausea. In this case, you should either avoid it or make sure to make it as safe as possible by slowing down your pace, drinking plenty of water, and choosing the proper clothing.
