Yoga Poses For When You Can’t Sleep

Many people have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep from time to time, but thankfully there are steps we can take to fix it. These are some useful yoga poses recommended by yoga teachers that can help us relax and fall asleep.

Child’s Pose (Balasana)

Child’s Pose is one of the most popular yoga poses that every beginner can easily do. It’s a comfortable and soothing exercise that will stretch your back, hips, and legs, and relax you before falling asleep.

Wind-Relieving Pose (Pawanmuktasana)

Lying flat on your back and extending one leg long in front of you can help relieve tight muscles and reduce soreness. Try to relax and focus on your breathing in order to fall asleep faster.

Legs Up The Wall Pose (Viparita Karani)

This is a classic restorative yoga pose that offers a variety of benefits and you can easily do it in bed. Staying in this pose for a couple of minutes will help your relax and remove all tension from the body.

Corpse Pose (Savasana)

Savasana is the perfect pose for the end of your bedtime routine because it’s easy and relaxing. Just lie on your back on the bed with arms by your sides or on your stomach, close your eyes and relax until you fall asleep.
