You Can Now Workout in Airport Gyms

What a concept, working out in gym airports. Until now, we didn’t even know gym airports existed. And considering the amount of time we spend with layovers and waiting for our flights to board, this seems like the best way to utilize our time. Here’s how to take advantage of these facilities.

Where are They?

Gym airports are still not a common thing to see in airports in the United States and you’ll have to search hard to find one. Many airports do offer fitness amenities like yoga and airport hotels offer day passes to their fitness centers.

You can find a full-service gym at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). The gym’s called ROAM Fitness and there’s everything you need to complete a great workout including treadmills, bicycles, weight benches, and dumbells. ROAM Fitness centers will soon be available on the west coast as well at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). We expect more airports to open these gyms soon as health and fitness have become extremely trendy over the past few years.

Finding Time in Your Schedule

Our bodies always ache after a long flight, so how can we avoid this? Even just walking around the airport before your flight and stretching out your muscles can help with this issue. Also, working out before a flight will help tire you out, helping you fall asleep on the plane.

If you’re interested in having a formal workout, try doing a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workout because it doesn’t take much time to do it and you’ll get the most out of your workout.
