Lizzo has been facing body-shamers from the start of her career, but always firmly stood her ground. Her live performances proved she’s in great shape, and the Grammy-winning singer recently sent a powerful message about body positivity in one of her Instagram videos.

Focus on Yourself

In her recent viral video, Lizzo said “I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type.” By saying this, she reminded her critics that every person has their personal fitness goals and that no one else should be concerned by them.

Celebrate Your Triumphs

The Truth Hurts singer could’ve easily stayed quiet, but there’s a reason why she decided to face body-shamers publicly. She wanted to show people who are struggling with body image that every step they make towards progress really matters.

Do What You Love

Lizzo also said that she’s been working out consistently for the past five years, and her video makes it clear that she’s enjoying her routine. She can be seen riding an exercise bike, jumping rope, and doing jumping jacks.
