Whether you hit the gym every day or not, activewear is probably an essential part of your wardrobe, and chances are you own more clothes than you truly need. If you’re in the mood to declutter and properly organize your workout collection, these three tips will get you there.
Donate Unnecessary Clothes
The first step you’re going to take is to go through your workout collection and ditch clothes you’re no longer wearing. You’ll most likely stumble upon pieces that are torn, worn out, or no longer fit your style, and it’s always a good idea to donate them or consider recycling them if they can’t be salvaged any longer.
Categorize Your Activewear
After deciding what you’re going to keep, it’s a good idea to take some time to categorize your activewear by type and function. Sort your clothes by function and type, into such categories as leggings/shorts, sports bras, tank tops/shirts, jackets/hoodies, socks, and other accessories.
Proper Storage
After categorizing your workout clothes, it’s time to store them properly. Drawers are best used for smaller items, such as sports bras, socks, and accessories. Leggings, tank tops, and shirts are best folded and stored on your shelves, while you can store bulkier items such as jackets and hoodies on hangers. Color coding is a popular organizational technique that can help you keep your clothes neat and easy to find.
