It’s not uncommon to dislike part of your body. According to market research group Ipsos, 83% of American women and 74% of American men don’t like their bodies. Luckily, there are ways to start loving your bodies again and they’re as easy as changing some of your daily habits.

Avoid Triggers

Triggers are different for everyone, but common ones include social media, celebrity images, and the dreaded scale. Stop looking to Instagram or on the cover of magazines for how you should look; these images are unrealistic and they often use filters and photoshop. Start following accounts that make you feel good about yourself.

Celebrate What You Love

This is as easy as refocusing your attention on what you do like about your body and learning to appreciate your body for all it’s able to do instead of ruminating on part of it that you wish were different. Your hips are thick for a reason, they’ll help your carry children when you’re ready to and that’s amazing!

Get Rid of Clothes That Don’t Fit

We all have those clothes in the back of our closet that we keep just in case we lose that extra 10 pounds. It’s hard letting go of these things because we’re letting go of a part of our past, but you can really only move on when you part ways with these items. Donate these clothes to someone else who can give them a happy life.
