5 Cool Yoga Classes to Try That You Probably Haven’t Heard Of

Everyone seems to be practicing yoga these days and with all the classes available there’s something out there for everyone. We’re sure you’ve heard of Bikram/hot yoga, restorative yoga, and power yoga, but have you heard of these lesser-known classes?

HotPot

HotPod Yoga is a London based company that offers Vinyasa in heated, inflatable, portable studios that resemble the jumping castles we used to play in at birthday parties as kids. The calming purple lighting is super calming and we can’t wait for the craze to come to the United States.

Slackling

Slacklining was developed my West Coast mountain climbers back in the late 70s and early 80s and it’s like walking on a tight rope. It takes balance, core strength, and flexibility to perform the tricks on the rope. There are casual meetups at parks or wherever a rope can be tied.

Black Light

Black lights combined with heat and all different types of music including dub step, house, and instrumental, with asana yoga is what you get with black light yoga. It’s taught at Back Bay Yoga in Boston and it’s about allowing the external stimuli give you a full-body experience. Make sure you wear neon or white clothing to get the full effect of the class.

Naked

Naked yoga is all about embracing your body and connecting with it on a deeper level. There are coed and single-sex classes, or you can try classes with home videos at your home.

Acro

Acro yoga is partner yoga that combines the spiritual nature of yoga with the athleticism of acrobatics. You’ll build trust and communication skills with your partner and it’s a great way to meet new people.
