If you search the term “hip dips workout” on YouTube, you’ll stumble upon countless videos with millions of views, promising amazing results. Their popularity suggests that hip dips are a cause for concern, but what are they really and should you try to get rid of them?

The term “hip dips” or “violin hips” is used to describe gentle inward curves, located below your hips and above your thighs. If you’re obsessively trying to get rid of them, you’re not the only one, but you should keep in mind that the workouts that you found on YouTube may not lead to the magical results that you’re hoping for.

Trying to get rid of hip dips may be pointless because they’re completely natural. Hip dips are associated with the shape of your pelvis and they’re a normal part of your body structure, so they may be impossible to change. They’re no sign of being unhealthy or inactive, and they manifest differently for all of us because we all have different bone structures.

You can try to minimize your hip dips by building muscle mass and losing body fat, but there’s no guarantee you’ll get rid of them completely. Obsessing about them could only take a toll on your physical and mental health, so you should simply accept them as they are because they’re completely natural and pretty common.
