Are You Doing Push-Ups Correctly?

Working out is difficult for a lot of reasons, especially when you’re first starting out. But one of the reasons that it’s so hard is not just the fact that you have to do all kinds of different workouts. It’s the fact that you have to do them right, something that many people shockingly aren’t able to do. There’s nothing more demoralizing than going through a set of push-ups, and thinking you’ve done a good job, only for someone to come along and tell you that you’re not going down far enough. Here’s why it’s important.

Quality Over Quantity

What you need to realize is that you’re not working out just for the sake of “finishing it”. You’re doing it because you want to achieve results, and this will only happen if you focus on the quality of your reps. In other words, you’ll get a lot further with three properly done push-ups than ten incorrect ones. Not only that, but ultimately you’ll find yourself improving your count as the days go by.

Ask a Trainer or Friend

If you’re not sure if you’re going all the way down with your push-ups, the best thing to do would be to ask someone else. The best case scenario would be to ask a trainer to help you out, but if that’s not an option, a friend or family member would suffice almost just as well.
