Common Smoothie Mistakes You’re Probably Making

Most people see smoothies as the healthiest way to start a day, and they usually are – as long as you make them right. Unfortunately, most people aren’t as mindful as they should be when it comes to blending their smoothies, and here’s a couple of common mistakes you should avoid.

Wrong Ingredients

There are some ingredients that many people add to their smoothies despite the fact they don’t really belong there. Added sweeteners, flavored yogurt, canned fruits, and juice may make your smoothie more tasty, but they often have an extremely high sugar and calorie content.

Side Snack

Unless your smoothies are extremely light, they contain enough calories to replace an entire meal, so it’s not such a great idea to drink them as a “side snack” after your breakfast or lunch.

Going Overboard

Moderation is important when it comes to making a perfect smoothie, so don’t go overboard by adding to much fruit or protein powders. The only thing you can’t overdo is blending, since most of us don’t do it as long as we should.
