With the free app Couch to 5K, we are here to show you how you can be one of those impressive runners you see running down your street. 

The app is completely free, so there are no excuses. Couch to 5K is designed for people who have never run before—for those “couch potatoes”. The app is designed to help you learn how to run 5K’s and keep going. They claim you can learn to run 5K’s in as little as nine weeks. 

For your first few runs, you won’t be going too far, and in the beginning, you will be directed to run at points and to walk at some points. This helps build up your endurance—eventually, you will run more and walk less over time. 

It is important to be aware that running can be hard on your muscles, and it could be dangerous if your body is not used to running. Keep this in mind when you are starting and leave some rest days between your runs when you are scheduling when to go on a run. It could be tempting to go out and do it all at once, but you could do more damage than good in the long run.
