If you’ve been showing up at plenty of jam-packed yoga classes but don’t feel you’re making the progress you would like, it might be time to try a private yoga lesson. Many yoga teachers are happy to offer one-on-one lessons to help address your individual needs and concerns. There are many benefits of taking private yoga lessons and you may just be able to deepen your practice in ways you never thought possible.

A Class Tailored to Your Body

Not all yoga flows suit everybody and it’s easy to overextend yourself in a class not designed for you. Or perhaps you’ve mastered the simple poses and want to learn trickier moves like inversions but the rest of your class is further behind. Either way, a private yoga lesson will be tailored to your body and abilities and will take into account any limitations and injuries you may have.

Share Your Intentions and Goals

Everyone has different intentions and goals when it comes to their yoga practice. At the beginning of a private yoga lesson, your teacher will encourage you to share your personal goals, ask questions, and talk about any concerns you have. They will then be able to shape the class accordingly.

Feel More Comfortable & Confident

Yoga classes can be intimidating. We all know that one guy who ignores the teacher’s instructions and pretzels himself into shapes that look humanly impossible! If you struggle with feeling shy around other students or compare yourself to others, a private yoga lesson may help you gain confidence in a safe, judgment-free space.
