Are you envious of people who manage to get to the gym at 6 a.m. and work out before you have even opened your eyes? How do they do it? Well, they have a nighttime routine, which requires them to go to bed early and be up early and refreshed ready to exercise. Having a routine can help you fall asleep around the same time every night, making waking up early less of a chore and more motivating. Here’s how to create a nighttime routine to help you get up early.

Mediate or Stretch 30 Minutes Before Bed Time

Put your phone on do not disturb, turn off the TV, and start relaxing your body and brain. This is a great time to meditate or do some light yoga stretching. It will help get your body and mind ready for sleep, not racing about what you just saw on Instagram.

Prepare Tomorrow’s Breakfast

Make sure you have something easy but filling for breakfast before you work out and overnight oats are a great option. They take a matter of minutes to make and can be taken with you.

Choose Your Clothes

In order to save extra precious minutes of sleep time, choose your sportswear the night before. Having to make decisions in the morning is hard, so make it easier on yourself and just set out the clothes you want to wear in the evening. You won’t need to think about it.
