Renowned designer Stella McCartney tried to redefine the way we think of sportswear with her Adidas collaboration, and her mission continues with a new sustainable collection.
The new drop features two apparel prototypes, created with a new technology that purifies old cotton and transforms it into a new material. Stella McCartney’s infinite hoodie and biofabric tennis dress are the first of their kind, created using sustainable materials, which can be reused over and over again and remade into new high-performance product.
According to James Carnes, vice president of strategy creation at Adidas, this collection is only a stepping stone for the more environment-friendly approach this company is trying to embrace in the future.
“Creating products with upcycled plastic waste was our first step. The next challenge is to end the concept of waste entirely. Focusing on three core areas, we will explore ways to create products that can either be fully recyclable or biodegradable,” said Carnes in a press release.
