3 Steps To Follow When Showering at the Gym

Showering at the gym is one of those things many people would rather avoid, but have to do from time to time. They either feel uncomfortable walking home all sweaty or have to rush somewhere else after the workout. That’s why they’re forced to use this area, but there are a few ground rules everyone should follow after entering it.

Never Go Barefoot

Flip flops are a must when using gym showers! If you haven’t brought a pair it’s better to head home than leave things to chance, no matter how badly you need a shower. Walking around the locker room barefoot is the perfect way to get athlete’s foot – a terrible fungal infection which mainly affects the skin between the toes.

Bring Everything You Need

Don’t even think about going to the gym shower if the things you need aren’t already in your bag or locker. You can probably rent a towel, but bringing your own is always a better idea, especially if you have a skin condition. Skin infections are the most common danger you’re facing here, and taking care of your belongings is the best way to avoid them.

Clean Your Mess

Gym showers would probably be less disgusting if everyone remembered they’re sharing them with others. Staff at the gym are not always capable of cleaning them in time, especially during the busy hours. That’s why it’s important to behave properly and leave the area the same way you’ve found it.
