Strength Training Vs. Cardio: Britney Spears Shares Her Thoughts

Strength training and cardio are two of the most popular types of workouts, and picking the right one can be pretty difficult, especially for beginners. Fitness experts usually swear by one or the other, and Britney Spears recently picked her favorite.

Our favorite pop star is trying her best to get into good shape and her secret to burning extra calories is surprisingly not cardio. The Princess of Pop is a huge fan of strength training and enjoys doing a wide range of bodyweight exercises, such as bicep curls, kettlebell swings, glute bridges, and more.

Britney’s strategy makes sense, since strength training helps you build muscle and burn more calories in the long run, and here’s why she prefers it to cardio.

“My body has muscle memory, cus I use it be gymnast and I can bulk up …. so I like isolated movement. The key to my workout is repetition, but that gets boring so I have a booklet I’ve made with all my favorite exercises,” wrote Britney Spears on Instagram.
