Most experts suggest not wearing makeup to the gym at all. Sweat and increased temperature can open your pores, and once you add cosmetics into the mix – it’s a recipe for disaster. This can lead to breakouts, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Keep it Simple
If you can’t bear the thought of hitting the gym without makeup, at least try not to go overboard. Keep it light and minimal by avoiding anything that might feel too thick or heavy. Avoid foundation altogether, and go with more breathable alternatives – loose powder and spot-corrector.
Avoid Eye Makeup
There’s no need to go to the gym looking like you’re ready to hit the dance floor, unless you want to leave with mascara and eye shadow running down your face. Waterproof mascara is the only piece of eye makeup that belongs at the gym, and everything else is a big no-no.
