This Amazing Lady Became a Fitness Fanatic in Her 70s

Joan MacDonald was nearly 70 when she learned that her health was rapidly getting worse. The doctor didn’t have good news for her; she suffered from high blood pressure, acid reflux, and high cholesterol. MacDonald had a choice, she could either increase the dosage of her meds or drastically change her lifestyle.

MacDonald remembered that her mother went through the same things and took more and more meds, and decided she wanted to try another approach. Her daughter helped her get started and, over a couple of years, she made an incredible change.

This brave lady lost over 60 pounds and her doctors have confirmed that her health has never been better. She never got discouraged for being slower than other people in the gym, and she slowly made her body stronger than it ever was.

Her eating habits also changed. She claims that she now eats more than before, but she chooses foods that are rich in nutrients and lower in calories. MacDonald is living proof that self-improvement is addictive. After some time, her daughter introduced her to apps like Headspace and Elevate for meditation and mental wellbeing, as well as Duolingo where she started learning Spanish.
