Halloween is just a day away and besides for dressing up in costumes, the candy is the best part. And sure, even if you’re following a diet, you’re bound to eat some Halloween candy and you know what, that’s totally okay! Chocolate may be high in sugar, but it has health benefits like antioxidants and micronutrients. When it comes to chocolate, some are more filling and nutrient-dense than others. So how do Snickers and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups stack up to each other?

Snickers

Rich chocolate, creamy nougat, chewy caramel, and crunchy roasted peanuts—it doesn’t get any better than this. With slogans like “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” and “Snickers handles your hunger,” we’d expect Snickers to satisfy hunger. The candy bar has a combination of fat and protein from the peanuts. With that said, the protein content in Snickers is minimal and so is the fiber. There’s also a lot of added sugar which can spike blood sugar levels.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Who can resist peanut butter and chocolate? Peanut butter has healthy fats, protein, and fiber. In regards to Reese’s, two peanut butter cups have fewer calories, carbs, and sugar and more protein and fiber than Snickers.
