Yoga is an exercise for everyone, and it can be done anywhere without requiring any special equipment. It is also quite healthy. Here are some basic facts you should know before practicing yoga:

You don’t need to be flexible

Being flexible is definitely a plus when it comes to yoga. However, it isn’t necessary. If you cannot do basic poses, there are tools to help you.

Join a beginner’s class

As a newbie, you should join a beginner’s class. No matter how fit you are, you should start from the basics. Jumping this process can lead to injury.

Ask questions

Always ask questions if you have problems. Also, if you have health issues, your instructor should be informed.

Learn the safety pose

If you feel pain, take the child’s pose. This is the timeout pose, and it is done by placing your knees on the yoga mat and lowering your chest on your legs while dropping your head.

Find the best style for you

Try out all the different styles in yoga and pick the one you like best. It is better to attend at least two different classes in a week. Trying out two different teachers will make it easier for you and you’ll find a style that suits you in no time.
