4 Techniques That Will Help You Lose Weight

If losing weight was easy, there wouldn’t have been so many people struggling with it. It’s a problem that takes a holistic approach as it often can’t be solved with only one tool. You need to change your diet, get active, and do many other things in order to shed the pounds and keep them off. Here are some techniques that can help you.

Have an Exercise Strategy

You want to combine strength training with cardio for the best effect. You don’t need to go to the gym or get any expensive equipment for this, but you need to create a habit and do your workouts regularly if you want to see the results.

Eat Right

No amount of exercise will help you burn off all the calories that fast food and other unhealthy foods can give you, so make your meals rich with protein and complex carbs to keep you full and prevent cravings.

Heat the ingredients in a sauce pan and mix well to combine. Pour over pasta! Deets: @wildalaskancompany salmon seasoned with a little salt and some Chinese give-spice, seared in a little coconut oil on medium high for 2 minutes per side (I added a little coconut aminos to the pan too), avocado, cilantro, baby spinach, dip (1/3 cup yogurt mixed 1-2 tablespoons organic mayo with 1.5 teaspoons tamari, 1.5 teaspoons coconut aminos, chopped cilantro, a 1/4 teaspoon each of garlic and onion powder, and 1-2 teaspoons lime juice), and this gnocchi. Toss a whole bag of Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi with about 1.5 teaspoons coconut oil, season with paprika and salt and air fry for about 10 minutes on 400 (mine were still frozen), remove and toss with 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce and place back in air fryer for about 5 minutes until crispy and glazed. If they aren’t crisp yet then add a couple mins. Add some more sweet chili if you want! **if you are baking them then season the same and bake on 425 for 20 minutes (stir them halfway) and remove and add the sauce and bake until crispy. Enjoy! ? . #pasta #lunch #dinner #healthyfood #healthyeating #tasty #tomatoes

Sleep Well

Not only are you’re allowed to sleep more if you want to lose weight, but it’s also a requirement you should follow! We all want to sleep in in the morning when we have to go to work, but the tricky part is going to bed earlier and making it a constant for every day, or at least most days.

Attitude

Your attitude towards weight loss can make all the difference in the results you will get. Don’t look at your new lifestyle as if it’s a punishment, but realize that it’s the best thing you can do for your future self.

What if what you ate was a reflection of how valuable and worthy you believe you are?⁣ ⁣ Last week in Balance & Thrive, my amazing co-coach @charitynelmsfit posed this question to my B&T gals, and it even took ME off guard.⁣ ⁣ What if our relationship with food was a reflection of the relationship we held with ourselves?⁣ ⁣ When I worked in real estate, there was a stigma against people who rented properties rather than bought them (offensive as this might be to me lol I WAS a renter at one point). But it was a belief about renters that, because they didn’t actually own & VALUE the property, they often trashed it without concern.⁣ ⁣ I’d sometimes go into a property after renters had moved out, and the carpet would be trashed. The walls would be unpainted and scuffed. The place sometimes smelled bad because no care was taken to properly clean the place frequently.⁣ ⁣ The people who rented it just… didn’t value it, didn’t find it worthy of their extra effort, and so they didn’t take care of it.⁣ ⁣ But when I’d show homes owned by people, often the houses would be immaculate. Cleaned to a tee, carefully designed & remodeled, every detail taken care of. There would be new roofs, finished basements, brand new flooring… these people took care of the house, because they owned it, and they knew it had value: value they enjoyed living in it, and value they could get out of it when they sold it one day.⁣ ⁣ When you value something, and you know it’s worth something… you take care of it. You give it the best you can.⁣ ⁣ And when you DON’T value something… and you don’t think it’s worthy, and special, and worthy of extra care and attention… it’s so easy to find yourself giving it the least care & attention possible.⁣ ⁣ Your body is worthy of care and attention. It’s deserving of love, respect, movement, water, green things, and your attention.⁣ ⁣ Do you believe it?
