Modern society has brought so many challenges and changes to our daily routine. One of those changes is our sedentary lifestyle. Sitting for long periods can lead to a number of health problems, and unfortunately, so many people spend upwards of six to nine hours a day sitting in front of a computer. Here are a few ways to hopefully put an end to that, or at the very least help out.

Ditch The Car

Driving a car is certainly convenient, but the truth is that we use it more than we actually need. Walking or riding a bike to work is exactly what you need if you want to be more active. It’s great for getting your heart rate up as well as burning calories, and you’ll also save some money!

Move At Work

Staying active at work is extremely important for people who work desk jobs. For your own health (and sanity), try to take breaks at least every hour to go for a short walk.

Do Your Chores

We know that most household chores are boring, but they’re also a great alternative to exercise. Indeed, they force you to move around and ultimately burn major calories.

Active Hobbies

Finding a hobby can be beneficial for both mental and physical health. Hiking, birdwatching, photography, and gardening are all interesting hobbies that’ll motivate you to move more.
