Taking off your jewelry before every workout may seem like a waste of time, but it’s actually extremely important. Here’s a couple of reasons why you should completely ditch your bling before hitting the gym.

Minimal jewelry won’t be too distracting, but if you end up wearing a lot of statement pieces, it’s highly likely they’ll end up getting in the way. Rings are especially dangerous, and you should never wear them during weight training since you might end up with a serious injury.

Possible Damage

You’re exposing your jewelry to possible damage every time you wear it to the gym. Due to its extremely fragile nature, your jewels can easily end up broken or even lost during your sweat sessions, and you’re definitely not prolonging its life span by wearing it to the gym.

Skin Irritations

Your body produces a lot of sweat during each workout, and things can get worse once you add jewelry to the mix. If you still don’t want to leave your bling behind, at least make sure to clean it properly to remove all the dirt and sweat.
