Every runner, even those with years of experience, need some motivation from time to time. It can be hard to make yourself run on a cold and rainy day when you can simply stay bundled up in your cozy home, but here are few ways to motivate yourself to do it.
Tell Yourself It’s a Short Run
Planning a long run in cold weather can be a bit intimidating, so try telling yourself it’ll be a short run instead. This is a great way to trick your mind and find motivation for running when it’s raining.
Dress For Success
Comfortable fitness gear can sometimes motivate us to work out more often and harder, and it’s even more important to wear appropriate clothes when it’s raining. Make sure to dress in layers when it’s cold and to wear a rain jacket.
Be Patient
After warm sunny days, our body and mind need time to adjust to the new weather conditions, so be patient and don’t give up easily. Running in bad weather may not seem appealing at first, but it can be a powerful experience once you get used to it.
