Kayla Itsines Opens Up About Her Intense Post-Baby Workouts

Most women struggle to bounce back and return to their workout routine after giving birth. In the last couple of years, our favorite fitness influencers opened up about their postpartum fitness journey and made us feel less alone – and Kayla Itsines is leading the pack.

Ever since giving birth in May, Itsines openly detailed her struggles on Instagram, and she’s done it once again in a recent blog she’s written for Women’s Health. The famous influencer admitted she was clouded by self-doubt after returning to the gym, but she now has a new source inspiration.

“I’ve always been motivated by improving my fitness in the gym, and now that I’m a mother, I’m motivated in another way: I want to show up and get my workout in because I want to be the strongest, most confident version of myself to be a good role model for my daughter,” wrote Itsines.

Her fitness level was no longer the same as before, and Itsines had to take it easy during her initial post-pregnancy workouts. She’s slowly getting back on track and if you’re still struggling to get there, here’s her advice: set specific goals, find a routine you enjoy, be prepared for setbacks, get a workout buddy, and relax by listening to your favorite playlist.
