Ever since joining the MCU in the role of the Winter Soldier, grueling workouts became the new normal for Sebastian Stan. He returned to this role in the new Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and his fitness routine for this project was more intense than ever.

Stan recently discussed his approach to working out with Men’s Journal and said he was as devoted as always because the production was just as big as with the movies. The Marvel star added that staying in shape for this role over the past eight years has changed his life and he couldn’t have done it without the celebrity trainer Don Saladino.

According to Saladino, Stan mostly trained with a kettlebell or a pair of dumbbells, because that was all the equipment he had at his disposal in isolation. The famous trainer said it’s “aspirational” to see what he managed to achieve with body weight and a few pieces of gear.

The list of exercises that he performed as part of his routine includes half-kneeling one-arm kettlebell presses, dumbbell side raises, dumbbell reverse flyes, kettlebell halos, and one-arm kettlebell carry. He made sure to increase size, strength, and endurance along the way to properly prepare for the show’s ruthless fight and action sequences.
