What Happens When You Rewear Sweaty Workout Clothes

Most of us don’t have time to wash our workout clothes every single time we use it, especially if we like to go to the gym every day. However, there are a number of reasons why you shouldn’t reuse your sweaty workout clothes and these are only some of them.

They’ll Start to Smell

The first and most obvious result of rewearing your workout clothes is that horrible, uncomfortable smell caused by the buildup of bacteria. If you use the same clothes more than once, that smell will only get worse and your chance of getting rid of it will be reduced.

Breakouts

Gyms are a breeding ground for germs and your clothes will most definitely pick up all sorts of bacteria while you work out. When you rewear your workout clothes and don’t keep your gear clean, you’re more likely to irritate your skin and develop some pretty uncomfortable skin conditions such as breakouts, acne, redness, blisters, or even dermatitis.

Ruin Your Gear

Rewearing dirty clothes is not a good idea in general, because sweat usually leaves stains on clothes if you leave them sweaty for too long. You usually sweat a lot more in the gym, so it’s best to keep your clothes clean if you don’t want to ruin them.
