Going to the gym every single day can really take a toll on your body. Taking a rest between workouts is a must, even if you feel energetic every single day. Most people are convinced that they’ll achieve the best results if they exercise 7 days a week. Here are some of the reasons why you should give yourself a break.

Muscles Need Rest to Get Stronger

If you work on the same muscle group days in a row, the muscles won’t have time to recuperate and gather all the essential nutrients and energy to grow. That is why you should definitely take days off, or at least work for different groups one day after the other.

You Avoid Injuries

One of the biggest myths out there is that you’ll lose progress if you take a day off. It’s extremely important to rest between workouts in order to avoid injuries. Your muscles need proper nutrition and rest if you want them to get better and bigger. If you are always tired, the chances are you won’t be able to do your best.

Listen to The Body

If you are exhausted, your body will show signs. You can’t deal with tiredness if you don’t sleep enough and rest.
